 Gala FAQ

What is the Gala?

The Gala is a community event held each spring to benefit the Harvard Schools Trust. In its twenty-seventh year now, it brings people together to enjoy a gourmet dinner and theater performance in support of Harvard’s schools. This year’s Gala will be Saturday, March 12, 2016.

What's the dinner like?

Guests will meet at the Fellowship Building on Elm Street for hors d'oeuvres, dinner, and dessert, all catered by Lucia's Tavola.

Check out the Gala menu below!

How about the play?

At 6:00 guests gather at the Cronin Auditorium to mingle with friends and enjoy a theater presentation by the Bromfield Drama Society. Bromfield’s thespians have consistently won regional and state awards and have placed first in state-wide competition competing against much larger schools.

This year's play is Alan Ayckbourn's comedy, "How the Other Half Loves."

What items are in the Silent Auction?

The theme of the auction is "Connecting the Community." Many local organizations, businesses, and individuals have contributed items.

We will provide a list of offerings soon.

What does the evening cost?

Tickets for dinner, theater, and dessert are $60 per person ($40 per person for seniors, age 65+). Tickets for theater-only are $20 per person. Half the ticket amount is considered a tax-deductible donation to the Trust.

Wish You Were There

The Harvard Schools Trust's gala last Saturday night was a blast. Not only was the food—prepared by just two incredibly ambitious cooks—delicious; not only were the desserts, served after the play, properly delectable; not only were Harvard's precocious young actors entertaining and touching; but the event brought together a wide assortment of townspeople, all dressed to the teeth and feeling great. It was one of the best all-town activities in years…It felt like old times.

Beyond that, there was the success of the event as a money raiser. A gross of $10,000 is nothing to sneeze at, and the money, we're sure, will be put to good use. The whole thing was a wonderful idea, wonderfully executed, and we can't wait for next year.
